Refugee camp in Balkh province, Afghanistan.

These pictures were taken during my reporting trip in Afghanistan in the summer of 2015.

Thousands of families from across northern Afghanistan have fled to Mazar-e Sharif, the provincial capital of Balkh, a relative oasis of peace in the region. Many of those displaced have escaped to Mazar-e-Sharif, where they face a life of squalor in makeshift refugee camps and shelters.

These people are living in a mud houses and tents. Most of kids in these pictures have lost their parents during Taliban attacks in Afghanistan.
